The Faroese Church Minestry to Israel

The Faroese Church Minestry to Israel goal is to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ, to witness to Jews in Israel that Jesus was the Messiah foretold in the Old Testament. We also want to promote understanding and mutual knowledge between Jews and Christians. We also endeavor to fight antisemetism in all its forms.

Foundation:
The Faroese Church Minestry to Israel is working on the basis of the evangelical-lutheran church as an expression of the obligation af the church standing before the jewish people.

What is God's plan for Jews - who do not believe in Yeshua? What is God's relationship with such Jews? God’s plan for the Jewish people is for all of them to come to know Him through His Son Messiah Yeshua, for He alone is the WAY. These are not my words but Messiah Yeshua’s. John 14:6-7 "Yeshua said unto him (Thomas), I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man comes unto the Father, but by Me. If you had known Me, you should have known My Father also: and from this time on you know Him, and have seen Him."

God's relationship with His Jewish people is also clear, He loves them with an everlasting love, and we are not to judge them but to bring the Word of God to them in love. It is not for us to convert them to Christianity, but to there Jewish Messiah who is God.

God will use them!

God will use them to bring His prophetic plan to fruition. All eyes are focused on the Middle East today and Israel. This is a miracle in itself as Israel is not a religious country by any means. Most of the people are secular not religious. God made a covenant with the Hebrew people through Abraham and He keeps His word. More and more Jews will have the veil lifted from their eyes and come to believe in Y'shua. Many will see Him when He returns to the Mount and will recoginize Him and turn to Him.

The Faroe Islands

is a small group of islands in the North Atlantic between Scotland and Iceland. Together with Greenland the Faroe Islands is still in union with Denmark but has home rule; there are efforts to break away from Denmark. Compared to Denmark the spiritual life in the Faroe Islands has always been rich and included a strong interest in Israel.

In 1992 the Faroese Church Minestry to Israel was formed, and they have decided to become a member of the
LCJE family.

With a population of less than 50,000 it is impressive that the Faroese Church Minestry to Israel publishes a magazine evry half a year in 2800 copies and have a homepage. The Mission’s chairman, Frants Jensen, says that the setting up of an independent Faroese Church Minestry to Israel and membership of LCJE are natural consequences of the realization that also people in the Faroe Islands have received the best of the best from Israel, namely salvation in Jesus, and that they therefore see it as their duty to be part of a greater fellowship - which also includes Christian churches - which wants to help bring the gospel back to the Jewish people.

In the last years the Faroese Israel Mission has had volunteers working in Israel, where we for example have served at the Caspari Center and in the Bible Shop. The Mission has supported the Nordic Joint Mission in Israel, which includes involvement with the Immanuel Church in Jaffo, where we also have had workers.

We would like to continue to send people to Israel and to support various projects in the country. And we strive to increase the efforts at home to arrange meetings and give information. We believe that God wants to use us in his service, both here in the Faroe Islands and in Israel. And we ask our friends’ prayers and support.
